Day 8

MY YEAR IN MUSIC

In October 2014 I decided to go premium on Spotify and it was the best idea ever. I know not everyone wants to pay 10 bucks every month for music but otherwise every song would be like one euro or something.
Anyways, I absolutely love it comes in very handy cause you have almost every song on there and can create playlists blah blah. I'm sure you know how to listen to music.

Spotify does this thing, at the end of every year, where you can find out who your top artist is or how much you were listing to music that year.
It's called "YEAR IN MUSIC"
So today I'm going to share with you what I've been listening to this year!

And let me know if there are any artists I'm totally missing out on!!

I was listening to music for 50,000 minutes - 834 hours or 35 days!!!
That's 241% more than last year.

I listened to 2,077 different songs this year, which is 964 songs more than last year.

Day 2

MUSIC

One of the most important things on Christmas, besides food and presents, is probably music.
Even if there is still no snow and you can't wear your favorite scarves yet -because it's the beginning of November- you can get festive with turning up the Christmas music.
I created one on spotify ans as of so often I'm going to share it. Let me know what you think of it in the comments.

Monthly faves

LIFESTYLE🍃

Um...can you believe it's November? I feel like I just put up all my autmnal decor yesterday, and now it's almost time to replace them with christmas decor. At htis time of the month, it's time for my monthly favorites.

In beauty, I bought an eyebrow pencil recently. It has a brush at the end, and I was really exited when I bought it because it is exactly my shade. I feel like when I put it on, I look older. Not in a bad way tho.
I discovered kinda like a new look for me with it. I just leave out the mascara and instead I do my eyebrows. And that's it. I feel like eyebrows just really frame your face, and you don't really need the other stuff.

I like to experiment, and put myself up to a challenge, like going vegan, which I did last year for a month or so. Now I'm on a vegetarian challenge but I might swerve into vegan after a while. I'm trying out different sorts of food that replace the normals, I guess. I really got into the Soya and Coconut milk thing, and that is my favorite. I bought a Coconut/Chocolate Milk and it tastes delicious. Since yesterday I'm trying a new one that is Soya/Vanilla and it's tasty but not my favorite because it's too sweet for my taste.

My favorite interior are picture frames. It may sound weird but I bought them and they're just those glasses as cover and no actual frame. Idrew some pictures last week and I wanted to put them up on my wall, and because they have a kinda specific style to them I thought that a huge frame would just distract.
I bought them in a store called TIGER and they were only 1 euro!!

Music. I love music and I feel like so much new music came out this month, it's really hard to decide. I've already shared my Halloween playlist and that is basically all I've listened to this month. But my favorites from that playlist are Twin Size Matress by The Front Bottoms. I saw the quote "With tears in my eyes I begged you to stay, you said hey man I love you but now fucking way" on tumblr a lot, I loved it and found out it's that song. It's just a bonus that it's now one of my favorites. iTunes
Another facorite is the new album by 5 Seconds of Summer. It's different to the first one and you can actually hear how they've matured and how you can amazing songs when you exprerience and see the world. SGFG

FALL

LIFESTYLE🍃

Hallo(ween)!!
I think now it is okay to officially say that is fall. All the leaves in the forest behind my house are either lying on the ground or are in all the pretty colors. I put up the candles in my room, made a Halloween Playlist and bought some mini pumpkins.

I am the biggest fan of fall. I love the colors, the clothing and just the coziness that comes with it. I think the temperature might be just perfect (at least, sometimes). When it's not pouring rain, and you sit in your room with tea, you can make the most autumnal walks and take amazing pictures.
Oh and who isn't exited for Halloween?! 🎃

I have this huge window in my room where you can see miles and far away there are some fields and sometimes especially in fall you can see hundreds of birds flying at the same time which might just be my new favorite thing.

So first things first: food. I put together my favorite lunch for fall last Saturday and I was so excited of how autumnal it looked, that I had to take pictures and show you.

Autumnal lunch

-natural yogurt
-muesli
-nectarine
-raspberries
-honey

-broccoli soup (link)

-some orange juice (it's not orange juice,
 it's orange juice)

Monthly faves

HALLO(ween)!! 🎃

I know I missed the last week because exam time started and I had to study. But I'm gonna catch up with my September monthly favorites now and get back into schedule. It's finally October, which is my favorite month of the year. And those Sundays are gonna be my favorite blog posts to write because of all my favorites. I looked back at my other monthly favorite and I said I can't believe it's almost September. Now I sit here in mid-October and I can't believe there are advent calendars in the store, and it's almost time for my October favorites again.

9/27:

So as usual I'm gonna start with beauty. As you may have noticed I'm not even close to being an expert in that field but I recently got into bronzer. In fall there is not much sun, at least where I live and I really missed my little tein. So I bought one and I actually really like it. I put some under my cheekbones and on my forehead.
I also got a new hand cream given to me, which is by CD. Now that your hands are dry and need extra care it leaves your hands smooth and is really affordable. And the company earns a plus because they are cruelty free, and I try as much as I can to cancel this cruelty in my live.

In fashion I rediscovered my ring collection. I store them in a little bowl I got from Hawaii and I just found the box. I'm pretty sure I have about 30 and most of them are really simple (and from H&M). But I feel like they are a great accessory that just goes with everything and you can dress them kinda up and down.
I also found a black turtleneck t-shirt. It is -again- from savers in the US but I thought it would be perfect for fall. It is not thick enough to be a jumper and the sleeves are too short, but definitely has jumper qualities.

Now, right behind fashion, food is one of the best things in October. Everything is warm and tastes like fall. It just makes the whole atmosphere a lot more cozy when you have a hot chocolate (or pumpkin spiced latte), some cookies and candles in front of you, while you sit on your couch in 200 blankets and watch a crappy movie. I didn't have time to make a autumnal cupcake recipe. But I already found one which is probably going to be another Wednesday post.

Since I'm back in Germany all my shopping trips also led me to NANU NANA, to fill up on my decor and interior. And that is where I bought 3 colorful bowls. They where only 3 Euros and they have different designs on them. One is turquoise with an orange edge. The other is light blue and orange and has an orange edge as well. The third bowl has dark blue diamond shapes and an orange edge. I also bought two little tea cups which are black and white. One with circles the other with little dashed lines. I bought three little plates from the same black and white range which I use as plats for my cacti.

The last part is music. I put up a post next Wednesday where I included my Halloween playlist where you can see what I listen to this month. So today I'm going to talk about my favorite music in September. I also have a playlist for that. I make a spotify playlist for every month and I name it after events that happened. That's how cool I am. I have one that is called back to black because someone ( I don't even remember) dyed their hair black that day, Oh and that was in June '15. In July I started a new playlist and the first song in it is Fourth of July by FOB. The Playlist is called Zummer 2015 and has about 70 songs in it. I stopped editing it on October 9th. And it's probably my favorite playlist I have. I love to compare it to my Summer playlist 2014 and than I'm always very proud to see how I went from charts to punk pop.

MY SUMMER BREAK

LIFESTYLE

Hola!

This year I was pretty lucky with my summer break. They started at the end of May and ended in the beginning of September which makes a total of three and a half months. In such a long time I took some amazing photos and thought I'd share some of my favorites. I'll put them into a chronological order and explain what happened in the moment I took the photo.

All time low concert in the front row- what more do I have to say?

May14

We went on a road trip from St. Louis to Canada for a week and I was so fascinated by the Niagara Falls, that they definitely made it into this post.

June9

This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. On the left you can see Imagine Dragons and in the right picture is Halsey. She was the opening act for their smoke and mirrors tour.

June12

It was the 4th of July and me and my family went out to watch some fireworks. We were told that the best one was in the parking lot of the shopping mall. We went there and there were so many people. Many had blankets, little chairs and food. But we just stood under a tree and waited 'til it started. Then it began and every second there was a new and different looking firework. I took some photos because it was so amazing but most of the time I just watched them explode in the black night sky.

July4

On July 10th our second road trip started so we went on a plane to LA and made our way up to Seattle. We spent the first couple of days in LA where we were the perfect tourist. We went to see the Walk of fame and then went on a little tour to see some celebrity houses. The third picture I took at Venice beach. It was absolutely crowded and we watched the skaters for at least an hour.

July11 & July 12

Next stop was San Francisco. We drove there for over 7 hours because we stopped every time we saw another amazing coast. We were only there for a day so we did something what I would recommend everyone with a tight schedule: Go on a Segway tour. We started at Pier 41 and just went through all those little but very steep roads. We saw a lot in only two hours and it wasn't some lame bus tour where you just sit and watch. The next morning we had to leave again but we hadn't seen the Golden Gate Bridge. So we stood up early and went to this amazing view. Luckily the sun was shining and there was no fog.
July15

From San Francisco we then went on to Oregon and discovered this pretty amazing spot. We drove for a while and needed a break so we looked out for a nice spot. I think we succeeded.
July15

We were in a Hotel in Newport right next to the beach. From our hotel room you could see the sun rising and setting behind the ocean which was incredible. One evening I was at the beach and when it got darker I decided to leave. But not before I took this shot.

<- Down by the ocean&The little river ->

I took the first photo when we were up on the Space Needle in Seattle. We lived outside of Seattle on an island. Our house was next to a harbor and we had an amazing view. We had to get on a ferry which brought us to Seattle but that was okay because we only left twice. There was loads to do even on a little island. We discovered a river which had thousands of little fish swimming around. We always were the only ones and stood with our pants rolled up in the water.

We also often went down to the sea where were these huge rocks you could climb on. I always sat on one and read and there where even some snakes!

July16&July22

On our last day we went to a 5 seconds of summer concert. We were pretty far up but we sat in the first row of one of those balconies. It was incredible and sooo loud.

Roomtour

LIFESTYLE

Aloha!
So today I thought I'd show you a sneak peak of my room. I won't show you the entire room because of personal items but as I said some bits and pieces.

As you may notice I play guitar. I tried to kinda create a corner for my                                                         instruments, and now I think I succeeded.

I bought this gigantic teddy bear in a hardware store around Christmas. It was only 20 bucks and I would have felt guilty if I would've left him there.
Next to the bear are my penny boards. The black one is a cheap one from another brand and the red one is an original. my penny

This is my little wall where I try to be artsy and creative. Most of my attempts fail but some are okay? I guess, and those okay guesses go up on my wall.

This is my clothes rack I talked about earlier. I put my current favorite clothes up there and try to keep it neat. My closet on the contrary is not that tidy. It's like great you have doors I can shut and only look in once a day!

What I like

weekly FAVORITES

Hey guys!
So like every Sunday I'm going to show you my favorites today. It's not the regular favorites post where I show you random stuff I enjoyed this month. I will show you my favorites in five specific categories.
- favorite thing to watch
- favorite person
- favorite thing I did
- favorite piece of clothing
- favorite tumblr post
Then I'm going to rate each thing with hearts from one to five!

1. Favorite thing to watch:
My favorite thing to watch this month must be american horror story. I used to be really obsessed with it a couple of months ago and I recently got really into it again. I started in season 1 again and even though I kinda know the story line I jump every time something scary happens.

2. Favorite person: (I follow on social media)
My favorite person this week would be the tumblr blog thehappysong. I reblog many posts when they come up on my dash and the blog likes mostly all the bands I like.

3. Favorite thing I did:
Well because it was my birthday I'm twisting the question slightly and I'm gonna say favorite thing I got. And that would definitely be my electric guitar! It's a pacifica and it's black and white. I also got a VOX VT20+ speaker.

4. Favorite piece of clothing:
While I was at my grandparents at the end of last month we drove to the Netherlands for a day and went shopping. We were in Enschede and we went to Primark and many stores around. My favorite piece of clothing I bought was a scarf from Primark. It is in those really autumny colors and is huuuge. It could replace a picknick blanket, but I really like it and it's so soft.

5. Favorite tumblr post:
I haven't been on tumblr a lot lately 'cause school stared again a couple of days ago, so I scrolled a little down my own blog to see what I posted even though it wasn't one of the latest posts. I scrolled for a while and stumbled across two photos actually. Both are music related but what isn't really.
So the first one is my favorite female artist. Her name is Halsey and you should definitely check her out if you're into dark electro-pop.
The second picture is a lyric quote from a song called jet black heart. And I really like the quote and the song. It's a mid-tempo pop/rock track from 5 seconds of summer and this album the theme of the songs is not as positive and chirpy as the previous music. This time they do some critical self-reflection and creating the new broken scene with it.

What I like

AUGUST FAVORITES

Hey guys!
I can't believe it is almost September! I remember May like it was yesterday. Summer break was over so damn quick. Over the month I wrote down some stuff I liked using or liked in general. I thought it might be boring if I just include fashion and beauty because I'm not the biggest expert in that field so I added food, interior and songs or music.

So let's start with beauty. Because of the moving I had a loooong summer break from may 23 to September 2. I barely wore make up, not even the littlest bit mascara and my skin is just so much better. I can even rub my eyes without smugging anything which is the best feeling. Because of that I have some skin care products.
I bought a body moisturizer from Nivea back at Walgreen's. I'm using it since November and it is absolutely amazing. It leaves your legs so soft and a big bottle is not really expensive.

Next I found an amazing way to save money in fashion. While I lived in the US I bought a lot of stuff because everything is just so much cheaper. Of course I also went to H&M and forever 21 but the most money I spent in thrift shops and sometimes urban outfitters. I can only recommend Thrift shops because you can find some awesome treasures in there. I, for example, bought a sweater for four bucks. Back home I got curious and googled the brand and an original would have cost over 100$!! You can find loads of bargains in stores like that and you can also look online if you don't have one near you :)

Now to a very important topic of mine: food
I found a book on the cookbook shelf which is called 'teenager auf veggiekurs'
. It basically has some pretty simple and delicious recipes for teens. I flicked through it and came across a recipe called "zucchini burger". I tried it and it tastes absolutely amazing and is fairly easy to make (I'll share the recipe in another blog post). For people who don't like zucchini don't worry you won't really taste it. Of course you can "design" your burger like you want the zucchini part replaces the meat.

Another part I loved doing this month was to buy some interior stuff to set up my room. Of course our first stop was ikea. I bought a clothes rack because I liked the idea of showing off my flannels.. I also bought a little fake fur carpet and a mirror. But the thing that actually belongs into my favorites is a little 3 piece set of cacti which now has a place on my windowsill. In ikea there was a massive selection of them and they all looked a bit different. So if you're a cactus fan you''ll definitely find something.

Now on to probably my favorite part of my favorites. Music.
I am so glad my taste in music changed drastically from chart music to alternative and pop punk. I just feel a lot more attached and it actually feels amazing to listen to it and just I enjoy it without having to skip every second song. I made a summer playlist on my spotify with music I enjoyed listening to over summer break. It goes from twenty one pilots to black sabbath, from Halsey to fleetwood mac. But I of course have some favorites. The first one has to be Drive by Halsey which just came out last week. It is really chilled and I actually listened to it on repeat while writing this post. When I listen to it I just wanna do a road trip in the middle of the night stare through the skylight of the car and watch the stares while the song is playing quietly in the back.
The next one is Caries by About Wayne. A friend of mine recommended me this song with the words "they are kinda like green day". That made me check'em out immediately. As I said it goes more in the rock direction it is kind of the opposite of the first one.
But every single time I make a playlist anyway, the first like four songs are me tryna exemplify my broad music taste and the rest are the same 7 bands.

til next time ~k80
