Nut Wedges

TUESDAY

So I'm kinda swerving into the baking lane(?) and I found a new recipe book on the book shelf. I looked through it and found "Nussecken", and because it's almost Christmas, I guess, I made them. It got me into a really festive mood and I feel like it was a mistake to make them because it's mid October. But you can never be too early for Christmas baking!

What you need:

-*250g flour
-*100g sugar
-*100g margarine
-*1 packet vanilla sugar
-*2 eggs
-*1 teaspoon backing powder
_ _ _ _ _

-1 jar apricot jam
-100g chopped almonds
-100g chopped hazelnuts
-3 tablespoons water
_ _ _ _ _

-200g bittersweet chocolate

First step:
Mix all ingredients (*) in a bowl until you get a stiff dough. You can knead it if it gets too hard.

Second step:
Grease the baking tray with margarine. (Don't forget the corners!)

Third step:
Place the dough onto the tray and smooth it out.

Fourth step:
Spread out the apricot jam onto the dough.

Fifth step:
Take the leftover ingredients and bring them to boil in a pot.
(Don't forget to stir them, they will get burnt quickly!)

Sixth step:
Spread the hot mixture on top of the apricot jam.

Seventh step:
Put the tray into the oven at 175C (~350F) for about 25-30 minutes.

Eighth step:
Take it out of the oven and let it cool down.

Ninth step:
Cut the dough into many little triangle shapes. But keep it on the tray.

Tenth step:
Melt the chocolate in a bowl on top of hot water.

Eleventh step:
Dip two corners of each nut wedge into the chocolate.

TADAA!

Tell me in the comments what your favorite fall/winter recipe is :)

If you bake the nut wedges, tag them with #k80cake on instagram so I can see them :)

Apple pie

MONDAY

Hi!
Throughout October I'm getting more and more into the autumnal vibe and because it's my favorite season it's not that hard.
Little update side note: I even started doing yoga. Firstly to kinda built up my lost flexibility again and secondly so I could contort my body into ridiculous shapes in order to make up for the lack of full length mirrors I have.

But anyways, today I have a recipe we already made twice this month, because it's so good.

What you need:

-1kg apples
_ _ _ _ _

-*150g Margarine
-*100g Sugar
-*1 Egg
-*1 tablespoon Milk
-*300g Flour
-*2 teaspoons backing powder
_ _ _ _ _

-100g Sugar
-2 teaspoons cinnamon

First step:
take about 16 apples and peel them. Then cut them into thin slices.

Second step:
knead all ingredients with a star * to a shortcut in the same  order they are listed.
If it doesn't form into a smooth dough use your hands!

Third step:
take 2/3 of the dough roll it out and smooth it into a greased springform pan. pull up the edges.
put the other third into the fridge.

fourth step:
take the sliced apples and place them onto the dough in the pan.

fifth step:
mix 100g of sugar with the cinnamon and spread them on top of the apples in the pan.

sixth step:
get the leftover dough from your fridge and roll it out. layer it on top of the apples to cover them.

seventh step:
put it in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes at 170C (~340F)

eighth step:
enjoy!

What I Like

weekly FAVORITES

Hey guys!
So like every Sunday I'm going to show you my favorites today. It's not the regular favorites post where I show you random stuff I enjoyed this month. I will show you my favorites in five specific categories.
- favorite thing to watch
- favorite person
- favorite thing I did
- favorite piece of clothing
- favorite tumblr post
Then I'm going to rate each thing with hearts from one to five!

1. Favorite thing to watch:
Staring with favorite thing to watch this week was Pretty little liars. We bought the third season this week (I know we're very far behind) and are watching it since then. Friday night we watched the first of six DVDs. We ordered some pizza, made the room pitch black, sat on the sofa and watched it. I love how it kinda started like the first season and how you still know kinda nothing. And I gotta say, that Hannah is rocking the new hairstyle!

2. Favorite person: (I follow on social media)
I watched a YouTube video and I loooved the clothes she was wearing, so I looked up where she got them from and it's this British (I believe) store. Lazy Oaf
I instantly fell in love with the first shirt I saw and I wish I had enough money to buy the entire store. I think now it's time for me to go to London again. Just for the single reason to spent my money in Lazy oaf.
Oh! and I also follow them on instagram now so that's why they're my favorite "person" I follow on social media this week.

Anyone wanna buy me this shirt??

3. Favorite thing I did:
My favorite thing I did was getting 14 points (an A) in my first math exam of the year. It's probably a weird fave because I'm not a school fan at all I try to talk about as little as possible especially during break, but I was really happy and wanted to document it^^.

4. Favorite piece of clothing:
My favorite piece of clothing is a kinda red/autumn-color sweater. I already have it in brown and it's my favorite sweater so I bought it again. Yes, I'm one of those people. It's from H&M and was 19,99 euro.

5. Favorite tumblr post:

I rebloggt this pic yesterday and it's my favorite because of the single reason that I am so exited for my concert, which is in 167 days 5 hours and 14 minutes. (I have a countdown on my phone!!!)

What I like

weekly FAVORITES

Hi guys and welcome back.
I thought about showing you my favorites this month because we just moved (in an other blog) and I bought many new bits and pieces. But it's only the 23 (it's my birthday) and maybe I will find something amazing in the next week. Today I stumbled across a YouTube channel called inthefrow and she had the same "problem". So she thought of the "LOVE LIST" where she basically talks about her favorites but not in like fashion and beauty but in more of a lifestyle direction.
(The Video)
So what I'm gonna do is answer some of the questions in more of like a paragraph rather than only a sentence and I'm gonna rate each "thing" from 1 to 5 hearts.

1. Favorite thing to watch:
As I said before I moved in the beginning of month from the US back to Germany and we are still unpacking and don't have a TV so television wise I am absolutely not up to date. We also just got Internet a couple of days ago so my series addiction had to suffer. Those two cancelled there are only movies I watched on the nine hour flight. I watched a movie in more of a documentary form about Amy Winehouse which was absolutely amazing. It was filmed after her death but wasn't about it. Of course I heard about Amy Winehouse before but I never really listened to her music or something like that. But after I watched it I have so much respect for her and her music and she was really funny and I learned a lot about her.

 2. Favorite person (I follow on social media):
I'm not gonna choose a person that I know personally because I keep that for myself but there are other favorite persons I WISH I knew personally so I'm gonna talk about one of them. This month I started following an instagram account called theadventurehandbook .
They post stories, experiences and adventures from other people and some of the pictures of what people experienced or saw, which makes me wanna book the next flight and go there.

3. Favorite thing I did:
Besides moving back to Germany was probably when me and a friend of mine went to Braunschweig by train. We had to go on four different trains and it took us such a long time but it was loads of fun. We took our penny boards there and the plan was to skate there. So we stood at the bus station and because we had no idea where we were we pointed our finger at one of the trams and jumped on in. We had no idea where we were going, but we found a little isolated trail and we just went in some direction. On the way to the trail we saw a billboard "rent pedalos here" and we new what we were going to do afterwards.
We went back by tram and stopped at the little house. We traveled down a little canal with many trees and bridges hanging over it and cute little houses next to it. On the way back we even met a Swan boat.

4. Favorite piece of clothing:
I went to Hanover a couple of days ago and I wasn't too impressed by the selection. When I looked into all the shops I would normally go in and found nothing I decided to give Primark a go. Well, I'm not really a Primark person and find most of the stuff a little "not my style" which then was the result of my purchases. So I spent about two hours strolling through the first three levels and didn't find anything. I almost gave up until I reached the fourth floor. (Yes I went into the men section) There I found some bracelets and a pair of shoes. But at least I saved some money!

5. Favorite Tumblr post:
In the last couple of days I spent a lot of time on tumblr because our Internet was too slow for anything else and most of the time only the text posts were loading. But yesterday I found a picture that I immediately saved.
